Holy Week (Part 1)

(Super Late Post)

I went back to Cebu during Holy Week and spent 2 nights at the Imperial Palace Watersport Resort & Spa. I really needed this break. School was just killing me. And thank gawd for hotels. I just really love love hotel beds and pillows :)

Here's the room we stayed in

Toma

Hey, Guys! Remember this baby I found in Baguio?

Photobucket

Well, I'ma call him Toma just like it's brand coz we all know how bad my memory is and it's more convenient that I name this camera with a name that's conveniently printed right in front of it. Hehe :)

So Toma is an old school film camera, so old school that you have to rewind the film manually after you finish your roll of film. I kinda broke the rewinder thing... you'll see what I mean in a future post.

 ANYWAYS...
Here are some pictures from the 1st roll of film I used on Toma I had printed:

(Shots I took during the Androgynous Shoot)

I like how the shots turned out even if they weren't sharp. I cleaned the camera after seeing these. Hopefully the next roll will look better.

I'm finally done editing the photos from the Androgynous Shoot. Watch out for them. Ima post them in awhile :)

There are times when were just not ready to face the world.
Times when we just want to be a silhouette.

The Age Issue

Last term, we had an alternative class outside school. We were required to go to a photo exhibit. Wawi Navarroza's PERHAPS IT WAS POSSIBLY BECAUSE.

During the course of the question & answer part with Ms. Navarroza, a few thoughts struck in my brain. (can't exactly remember how these thoughts came to mind... it had something to do with Wawi and some guy in the audience... anyways.)

Does age really matter when it comes to talent/skill/intellect/and etc.?

Must we really be competing with the younger ones already? Or are they now competing with us?

Does it mean if a young boy can do something just as good as an older guy, the talent of the older guy isn't of much value anymore?
Are we more impressed by the younger boy just because he is able to do it at an earlier age?

In a time when young kids are getting more and more talented, and the world more and more competitive, do we not only have to worry about developing our skills/talent/intellect but also have to start worrying about when we'll be really good at it?

This isn't the first time I have thought about this, just the first time I wrote about it.
What do you think?

**EDIT -  Here's a very interesting read:
A new theory suggests that creativity comes in two distinct types - quick and dramatic, or careful and quiet.

You know how they say there will always be someone better than you... well it's very comforting to know that someone will always be worse than you too. -- Andrew Dacay, 2010
