Pecha Kucha

This is the 3rd Pecha Kucha Night in Manila but this is the first time I've heard of it. Was I living under a rock the whole time? Anyways, I'm excited to attend this because my professor from last term, Wawi Navarroza, will be part of it. Also because Mark Nicdao, a photographer I admire, is one of the speakers. Got my ticket ready!  :-)

Not An Easy Question To Answer

Venus Raj was so close to winning the crown but I can understand why she had a major major problem coming up with a good answer. An answer that addresses the question directly citing a huge mistake committed in the past. I've been thinking about the question and even I don't have an answer for it. And I've had more than 30 seconds to think about it.

As some of you may know, I'm a Communication Arts student and one of my major subjects now is Video Production. We were tasked to do a 1-3 minute chase scene which can either be fast or slow paced. Movies I've Seen List: The Expendables

Watching this movie was like watching a bunch of boys who decided it was a good idea to make a movie of them just hanging out and having fun while kicking ass. Action packed. Lots of explosion. Yeah... Just watch it on DVD. The only reason why I watched this movie was because I had time to kill.

(Super late post)

I missed this movie when it was showing in the cinemas but luckily it was being shown in Cinemalaya. Not as good as the trailer but still funny. I like Kimmy Dora better though.

Movies I've Seen List: The Last Airbender

I didn't watch the cartoons so I actually liked the movie. My only comment would be that the water tribe people are lame. They could have fought of the fire tribe without the help of Aang if they just attacked earlier. And the water tribe princess wouldn't have had to sacrifice her life if she just used her bending skills against the general guy. But other than that I like the movie. The special effects were awesome.

The movie wasn't as good as the trailer. If it weren't for Angie this movie would be a super flop. But I love her to death so I can let this movie slide. And I think a change of director and location could have done this movie some good.

Cinemalaya 2010

(Super late post)

So this year is my 2nd year to watch Cinemalaya films. And I must say, I'm becoming more and more a fan. This year I was able to watch 3 films and a collection of shorts.

Props to Meryll Soriano for her acting. I liked this film but I thought the ending was a bit too deliberate.

This film was like Mano Po meets horror. It would have been better if it only focused on one aspect rather than mixing the two. 

I could only find posters for 2 of the shorts I watched and they just so happen to be my favorites from the bunch.
