WHIP MY HAIR

I'm really loving this little girl. Willow Smith, the 9 year old daughter of Hollywood power couple, Will and Jada Smith.
YES. NINE. She's wise beyond her age and very much determined and talented.
This is her 1st single. One of many hits to come I'm sure with Jay-Z backing her.
I'm excited to see what she has in store for us!
:)

P.S. Doesn't she just make you feel bad about how you spent your childhood?

Skillz

Sorry for the slow down in posts. First week of school kind of just went by real fast. I've been busy but can't even remember what I've been busy with. Anyways, while I was looking for a better link of Rihanna's new song "Only Girl" on youtube,

I stumbled upon this video:

This kid got mad skillz yo! I've been repeating this song over and over again! And not only did he do the song very well, he blended some other songs I like (Commander/Dynamite/Etc.) in the mid/end part of it effortlessly! Props to him! :)

Here are other his other videos:

Fame Monster

Lady Gaga interview with VIBE.com

"I'm struggling with all sorts of things, but that's the nature of being an artist... I think when you stop struggling, that's when your music starts to suck, so... I'm sorta holding onto my solitude and wrestling with all of my thoughts." —Lady GaGa

I think this is one of her best interviews to date (at least that I've seen)! Very insightful, very honest and very real. It's like a different side of her. We get to understand her more and how she is. She's wearing her heart on her sleeve on this one, baring her soul to us. But of course a very little part of it. Watch the video to see what I mean. And I love how she looks here, very Scarlett Johansson-ish. Suits her.

AlphabeAt

Alphabeat is a Danish pop band from Silkeborg, signed to Polydor label. Their single, "Fascination", was a major hit in Denmark during the summer of 2007 and a significant hit in the UK in 2008. The next single, "10.000 Nights of Thunder" (or just "10,000 Nights" in the UK) saw equal success, and their eponymous debut album went platinum in Denmark, and in the UK, the album has gone gold. It has sold over 100,000 copies, and their 3 top 20 singles have sold in the region of 400,000 all together. -- from Wikipedia

Found out about this really cool Danish band in one of the blogs I read. I've seen 3 of their music videos and they're pretty amazing. I'm really digging their sound. Good music + cool videos = I love! :D You have to see and hear for yourself.

Alphabeat - What Is Happening

Isn't the video just so fun, fresh, cute and clever? Haven't seen a video like it for quite some time now. Last one would probably be Fiest's 1234? And the song, don't you just love the song? :)

Here's another video, Alphabeat - Boyfriend

Love the video of this one too!
I'm really loving them!
Will get their album.
:D

**Ok, so I realized lately I've been kind of off track with what should be the main focus of this blog. Got carried away. Hehe :) Promise I will schedule and have my next shoot SOON. And promise I will finish the rest of the photos (Isa beauty shoot) by next month (or before the year ends). HEHE :D

Look What I Found!

Lady Gaga in the bathroom

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Does this shoot remind you of anything?
Remember my first shoot?

PAPARAZZIPAPARAZZIPAPARAZZI

Just wanted to share :)

GAGA?

I'm pretty sure majority of us thought her outfits for the VMA's were crazy and bizarre.
And she didn't only have one, but SIX outfits!!!
But after seeing this lovely chart, now I understand her artistic choices.
This explains a lot.

Photobucket

She truly is about the performance. She is a living performance art.
She is a visionary and a true artist.
I say, keep rocking our world GAGA! :P

Lady Gaga + Rihanna = ???

Eva Simons - Silly Boy

A friend shared this with me a few weeks ago.
Some parts of the video remind me of Rihanna's Disturbia. I think it's the choreography.
Her outfit selections are the likes of Lady Gaga.
I hear Rihanna when she sings.
And oh! the hair.... Sanjaya Malakar of American Idol.

Eva Simons = Gaga-fied Rihanna or a Rihanna-fied Gaga.
What say you?

Are you that B*tch?

Livvi Franc - Now I'm That Bitch

New Artist I stumbled upon. She reminds me of Ciara, Cassie, and Solange put together. Especially the part with the multi-colored ribbons, she has the same look with Ciara in the music video Work. This could either work for her or against her. Despite that, I think this song is going to be a big hit. At least I hope it will be. What say you? :)

Theme #1: Lady Gaga + Terry Richardson Photography

With all the LADY GAGA hype and with her upcoming concert in MANILA (that I really want to go to, anyone want to sponsor me? hehe^_^), I thought that she'd serve as the perfect inspiration for the first shoot this coming Friday (hopefully there will be no more postponements).

I originally wanted to do a photo shoot with Michael Jackson as the theme to serve as a tribute to him but our schedules did not permit it and I think it would be too late now, maybe on his first death anniversary. Anyways, I want to start my first shoot with a bang, I want to do something with that WOW factor. With the Lady Gaga theme, I think I can accomplish just that.

But that's just one half the WOW. The photography style is another story. Going through the thousands of blogs I read, I came accross this amazing photographer named Terry Richardson (more than once). He has a very distinct style and he's very much sought after now by all the big time magazines. The first time I laid eyes on his work I was drawn to them, they have a very raw feel to them. They're very real and he has a way of getting his subjects (from models, actors, to politicians) to do things other photographers normally couldn't (see pictures below, that's him on the left with glasses).

He's like the great Annie Leibovitz in that way.
The only problem now is if I can figure out how to get the same effect as his pictures. It looks really easy, but i bet it's not as easy as it looks. I think I got the half of it down though, I think my model and I will make a great team.
Here are some of Leibovitz most famous/controversial photographs:

The very pregnant and nude Demi Moore on the cover of Vanity Fair // John and Yoko very much in love for the cover of Rolling Stone (their last moments and photographs together, John was assassinated hours after the shoot)

**I know I should be developing my own style, but I'm still at the stage of exploring and experimenting. I want to learn all there is possible to learn. I'm still learning the "basics", only after I've mastered it can I develop my own style. It's like going to school, we learn the basics but it's up to us what to do with it. Wish me luck! :D
